10 Little Habits Most People Dont Realize Youre Doing Because Of Anxiety

Bria Barrows Updated June 18, 2019 By Cameron Stow 1. Suddenly fleeing a situation for fear of a panic attack or embarrassment There have been countless moments when anxiety has come over me all of a sudden, and in these moments, I have to recite mantras in my head to calm myself down or I’ll practice grounding techniques to slow down my heart rate. But, sometimes, if I’m in a situation where I feel significantly overwhelmed, I’ll leave where I am so I can find somewhere to breathe and collect my thoughts. When it becomes too much, most people probably don’t even notice that there’s something wrong. However, fleeing a situation feels better than unraveling in front of others and desperately …

Declassified Cold War Spy Images Show Himalaya Ice Loss Has Doubled Over 40 Years

A study published in the journal Science Advances reveals ice loss in the Himalayas has doubled in recent years. Researchers from Columbia University compared recently declassified spy photos from the Cold War to modern images from NASA satellites to calculate the rate of ice loss over the last four decades. In total, they looked at 650 Himalayan glaciers, which combined span 2,000 kilometers (1,242 miles) east to west and represent 55 percent of the region’s total ice volume. The data shows that the region’s total ice mass decreased by 13 percent between 1975 and 2000 and 28 percent between 1975 and 2016. The glaciers have lost an average of 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) every year since 2000, with some regions …

You Arent Going To Grow Unless You Take Risks

Holly Riordan Updated June 18, 2019 By Artem Beliaikin You aren’t going to grow unless you step outside of your comfort zone. You have to give up the fear of embarrassment, because all of the greatest things in life run the risk of getting awkward. You’re rarely going to succeed on your first attempt. You have to retrain your brain to stop thinking failure is the end of the road because failure is actually a stepping stone toward success. When you make a mistake in a relationship or your career or while learning how to ice skate, it teaches you how to be better prepared the next time. You aren’t going to grow unless you take risks — which means …

Netflixs Someone Great Delivered The Best Piece Of Breakup Advice Youll Ever Read

Jackie Rapetti Updated May 22, 2019 By Netflix I’ll admit it– I’m a sucker for a cheesy rom com. So when Netflix suggested I watch Someone Great starring Gina Rodriguez, you KNOW I clicked. And watched. And laughed. And cried. And through that rollercoaster of emotions, it was one scene in particular that struck me. Jenny, who is played by Rodriguez, is sitting on the F train, tears streaming down her face. As the train maneuvers its way along New York City’s underbelly, Jenny takes out her journal and pens a letter to her ex, Nate (played by Lakeith Stanfield). After nine years with Nate, she has just 226 words for him. And they are perfect. As a writer who has penned …

My daughter started seeing a dentist at a yr old” Not surprisingly, John Legend‘s wife reportedly bit back, responding with: “Was waiting for this. The Latest: Hong Kong leader Lam to speak at news conference

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam plans a news conference Tuesday afternoon following massive protests against an extradition bill and calls for her to resign. Lam has become the focus of derision by many in Hong Kong for having sought to push through the legislation, which would allow some suspects to be sent to mainland China for trial. Lam said previously the legislation would be suspended, but protesters are demanding that it be scrapped altogether. An estimated 2 million people marched against Lam and the legislation on Sunday. Government headquarters reopened Tuesday as the number of protesters dwindled to a few dozen. The announcement of her 4 p.m. briefing did not say if Lam would answer questions from the media. ___ …

The World’s First Urban Residents Experienced Some Very Familiar Problems

A little over 9,000 years ago, farming and rapid population growth led people to live close together in large numbers for the first time. At Çatalhöyük in Turkey, the oldest urban population we know about, people whose ancestors had been small bands of hunter-gatherers had to come to grips with living packed close together. The remains they left behind show that infectious diseases, environmental problems, and other curses of city living have been with us from the start. Çatalhöyük may have hosted up to 8,000 people at its peak – even minimum estimates are 3,500 – after hundreds of thousands of years of living in bands of no more than 30. When first occupied around 7,100 BCE, Çatalhöyük may have …

Khashoggi’s killing was ‘gruesome’ but new UN report is ‘flawed,’ says Saudi minister

(CNN)The murder of Jamal Khashoggi was “gruesome” but a United Nations report into the journalist’s killing is “flawed,” Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir said Thursday. Callamard said that Saudi Arabia was responsible under international law for Khashoggi’s “deliberate, premeditated execution,” and that current sanctions on some senior officials do not go far enough. “We disagree with her conclusions,” al-Jubeir told CNN. “We don’t believe she has a mandate, we believe that her report is flawed, we believe there are internal contradictions in the report, we believe it was based on media reporting and anonymous sources, we believe the description of the trials in Saudi Arabia, calling them secret, is not correct.” According to the report …

‘Lost’ Freddie Mercury song premieres

“When we first recorded it, I went to Abbey Road and we ran through with just Freddie and piano. It gave me goosebumps. It was magic,” Clark told Radio 2’s Zoe Ball. “Then we got down to recording the track and we [added] 48 tracks of voices, which had never been done in Abbey Road before, then the whole backing. “It was fabulous – but I still felt there was something about the original rehearsal.” Skip Youtube post by Freddie Mercury Solo Warning: Third party content may contain adverts Report After a decade-long search, Clark found the demo recording in 2017. And then I’ll have to change, too,” Trump continued. “But right now, we have a very good, you know, relationship. We have a really very strong relationship.” Asked whether he thought Kim could be “playing” him, Trump told Stephanopoulos that U.S. sanctions were still in place against North Korea and pointed to the return of hostages and war remains as evidence of his administration’s success in dealing with Kim’s regime. The president’s assertion contradicted a statement made by the U.S. Defense …

Read This If You Are Afraid Of Healing

Colleen George Updated June 19, 2019 By Gabriela Pereira Healing is ugly. Healing is painful. There’s no other way to put it. Healing means confronting a heartbreak, head on, and feeling the pain and the agony all over again. It means reliving a heartbreak, essentially pouring vinegar in the wounds. It means actually acknowledging the hurt and feeling the hurt, rather than pushing it away with food, alcohol, or running. Healing means continuing to show up for your life, even when you are on the verge of a melt down, and even when you miss the person who means the very most to you. It means putting on a brave face, doing your hair and makeup and dressing presentably, even when …

So Many Whales Have Washed Up On US Coasts NOAA Has Run Out Of Space To Bury Them

So many gray whales have washed up on the coast of Washington state this year that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has run out of space to bury the decomposing carcasses. After an unprecedented die-off that has seen over 70 gray whales stranded along US coastlines so far this year, local organizations have struggled to dispose of the huge animals, which can grow up to 12 meters (40 feet). The government agency is now asking private landowners with waterfront properties to volunteer their land as somewhere to allow the whales to rot. 2019 has seen the largest number of gray whale strandings in the US since 2000, when 100 whales washed ashore. NOAA has declared it an Unusual …

Dont Get Back Together With An Ex Unless You Can Forget The Past

Holly Riordan Updated June 19, 2019 By Brandon Woelfel Don’t get back together with an ex if you’re holding a grudge. Your relationship is never going to last if you keep bringing up old arguments you had the first time you were dating. You can sit down and discuss your old problems once, maybe even twice, in order to get your feelings out in the open — but harping on the mistakes they made years ago (that you have supposedly forgiven them for) isn’t going to do you any good. It’s only going to push you further and further apart. If what they’ve done to you is unforgivable, if you aren’t able to get over the way they hurt you …
